Not one for doing anything half-way, I pride myself on being a marketing junkie, lifetime learner and a world-class rower (that last one has nothing to do with copywriting but I love throwing it in whenever possible—no matter how tenuous the connection!) This marketing junkie/lifetime learner trend started early when I decided as an undergrad to double major in Journalism and Sociology…then get a minor in Biology. Since then, I’ve become completely entrenched in this world spending more than $20,000 a year in educational materials, seminars, memberships, etc. I spend $2,000 alone on books from Amazon.com. (I’d be lost without their Super Saver Shipping. Can I get an “Amen?”) I’m also a student of Dan Kennedy and member of his Peak Performers Gold+ program as well as the Information Marketer’s Association. I contribute monthly as a faculty member of Lee Milteer’s Millionaire Mastermind Group and subscribe to every source of good junk mail, e-mail and other marketing paraphernalia I can sniff out. My Secret Passion… When I’m not hunched over my keyboard pounding out stellar copy for your latest writing project, you can find me on the Occoquan River. In the suffocating heat or the stinging cold, you can usually find me enduring a masochistic training session. (Who knew it took so much work to make rowing a boat look easy?!) The upshot is I get to eat pretty much whatever I want…at least when I’m not trying to make weight for the next regatta! The truth is there are worse ways to go through life!
